Native to Florida
Black mangrove is a native tree of Florida's
peninsular tidal swamps. This small
tree flowers all year. There is only one species in the Avicennia family in Florida (Wunderlin,
1998). Presently, black mangrove occurs in FL, GA, PR, TX, and the Virgin Islands (Kartesz, 1999).
