Opened in 1938, Hillsborough River State Park is 3,950 acres of nature trails through riverside
live oak hammocks. The park also features canoeing, swimming and camping. Fort Foster, an
historic site, is located within the park; learn about it through the living history programs. And
every first weekend in December the park hosts the Derby Day Festival, a road race for the
physically challenged of all ages and abilities.
