Native to Florida

There are seven native species of passion flower found in Florida, and three non-native (Wunderlin 1998). There are perhaps forty species of passion flower in the U.S., all found in the bottom half of the country.

Purple passion flower is a native vine in Florida. It is frequently found in disturbed sites throughout the state. Passiflora incarnata is found from Texas to Illinois to Pennsylvania, and states south (Kartesz 1999). It blooms from spring into fall.
