| 8/24/03 - Anime Episodes Sorry for the lack of updates. Real Life has a tendency to interfere. Anyway, I've responded to all of the e-mail I've been sent, so if you were waiting for a response and did not get one, I must of lost your message. Please resend. Now, onto the meat of the update: all of the Dragon Warrior cartoon episodes currently in my possession have been posted. Yay! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to convert all of them from the horrible Real format. Boo. Until I finish converting, use the links below (not the anime page) to download. You'll need the Realplayer from real.com, and you may have to look around and find the old G2 version - some newer versions do not seem to work... Well, enjoy! | 7/6/03 - Kenshin Dragon Quest: Yomigaerishi Densetsu no Tsurugi According to the latest update of the Japandemonium column at RPGamer, Square-Enix has announced a new Dragon Quest game to be released in Japan. The game, titled Kenshin Dragon Quest: Yomigaerishi Densetsu no Tsurugi / Swordmaster Dragon Quest: Resurrection of the Legendary Sword, is apparently a completely stand-alone game (not made for a console) that is played by moving a plastic sword in front of a box that can attach to your TV. Different sword movements correspond to different controls. A single screenshot of a battle with a Drakee is displayed in the Japandemonium article; the exact nature of the game is not clear, but RPGFan reports that the designer, composer, and character designer (Horii, Sugiyama, and Toriyama) from the main series worked on this project. The game is targeting children who have not played the original games of the series. It will cost 6,980 Yen / $60 when it is released in September. |
| 7/6/03 - Dragon Warrior III Manual Dragon Warrior III NES Manual and its included strategy guide has been scanned and can be downloaded as a PDF file here. The file is a little large (~13 MB), but compressing it any further would have made some of the small text illegible. I have recently found (after I had scanned all the images) that Dragon's Den has the manuals available as PDF files, as well. I think their's are a little smaller, so you may wish to get those instead. |
| 6/30/03 - Dragon Warrior II Manual I've been working on some stuff for the site over the last few days, most notably the Abel Yuusha videos (still trying to get those onto the server) and some of the old DW materials I have lying around. I was able to scan in the Dragon Warrior II NES Instruction Manual. You can download the whole thing as a PDF file here if you are interested. I'll try to scan in DWIII's manual (which includes a complete walkthrough) over the next few days. |

| 6/3/03 - New Link: DraQue Star I found out about a new Dragon Quest news site called the DraQue Star. It covers Dragon Quest, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile -- basically stuff related to Enix. I'd recommend you check it out, as I haven't had the time to update this site in ages... it's been so long that I've actually forgotten how to access the news database ^^; I WILL be overhauling the site over the summer, though, but until then, check out the link! |
| 6/3/03 - Dragon-Warrior.com Contest I actually found out about this at the DraQue Star. Anyway, Dragon-Warrior.com is holding a contest for Dragon Warrior trivia fans. The grand prize is a Japanese Dragon Quest 1&2 Super Famicom game cartridge, although he hasn't been able to test it out. There are other prizes for the top four players. Answers for the first round of the contest are due June 15. The contest costs $2 to enter, however. |
